Hey everyone, Adrian here! As we work on our own two-minute opening film, we took some time to check in with other groups to see how their projects are coming along. Each team had different ideas, challenges, and strengths, and we got some useful takeaways from our discussions.
Hailey’s Group
They are working on a coming-of-age film about a teenage girl dealing with her parents’ divorce. Their planning is going well, with progress on scenes, wardrobe, and setting, but they’re struggling to agree on decisions as a team. We liked how they’re developing the coming-of-age genre, which we’re also exploring.
Serenity’s Group
Their film is a psychological thriller where the main character can’t tell if they’re dreaming or awake. They’ve done a lot of research on their genre, but their biggest challenge is meeting up and staying organized. Their focus on research reminded us how important it is to understand the details of a genre.
Anairis and Krystal’s Group
Their film is a mix of coming-of-age and drama, following two girls on prom night while touching on social media issues. They have great communication, but they’re still figuring out when to film and finalize their script. Their teamwork is something we can learn from.
What We Learned
Talking to these groups gave us new ideas and helped us see what’s working and what’s not. Communication, planning, and research are key, and we’re keeping that in mind as we move forward with our film.
