Blog #19: Reviewing Other CCRs and What I’ve Learned

Hey everyone, Adrian here! I’ve been checking out some amazing CCRs from other students, and I wanted to share what stood out to me and what I’ve learned from them. These CCRs were super creative and gave me a lot of ideas to think about.

A Fun and Creative CCR

The first CCR I watched started with a funny moment where the student asked, “Are we recording?” This made the video feel casual and fun right from the start. They introduced their CCR with the title of their 2-minute opening film and used great editing throughout. They included clips from movies that inspired their work, complete with the titles shown in the corner for reference.

What made this CCR even better was how the student added humor by putting on a fake mustache and pretending to be someone else asking questions. They also explained their genre, drama, focusing on its character-driven plots, strong relationships, and inner conflicts.

A Time Travel CCR

The second CCR was split into two parts. The first part was a podcast featuring someone impersonating Patrick Warburton, which was super entertaining. The second part took a creative twist with a time-travel theme. A character named Old Man Joey guided the viewer through key moments in the production process, making the CCR feel like a fun story while still answering all the required questions.

Final Thoughts

Watching these CCRs gave me a lot of insight into how to make these reflections both fun and informative. I’ve already shared my plan for my CCR in a previous blog, but seeing how others approached theirs really showed me how much you can do with this format.

For now, though, my focus is shifting back to my 2-minute opening film. I’ll have updates on that in my next blog, so stay tuned for more about where we are with the production process!
