Hey all! My name is Adrian. I’ve always been curious about how media can influence people. Whether it’s a video, photo, or tweet, the way it spreads and impacts others has always caught my attention. That’s what inspired me to take this Media Studies course—I want to learn more about how media works and how it affects us.
Fun fact: I actually didn’t start in this course by choice. I originally signed up for Cambridge Digital Media, but that course ended up getting discontinued due to low pass rates. Everyone in that class—including me—got moved into Media Studies without warning. At first, I didn’t know how to feel about the sudden switch.
Before starting this course, I didn’t think much about the effort behind the media I consume. I would watch YouTube, scroll through Instagram, and follow trends without realizing how much thought and strategy went into creating that content. Now, I’m beginning to see that media isn’t just about entertainment—it’s about telling stories, sharing messages, and shaping our thoughts and feelings.
In this course, I hope to learn how media is made and how it influences people. I want to understand why certain posts or ads grab our attention, how creators get their messages across, and what makes media so powerful. I’m also excited to learn new skills, like video editing and creating content. So far, I’ve only done basic marketing for my reselling side hustle, but this course will let me explore the technical side of media production.
Although I feel a bit nervous, I’m ready to dive into this new world. Learning how to create high-quality media might be challenging, but I’m eager to take it on. It’s a great opportunity to grow and learn something new.
Overall, I’m looking forward to learning how media shapes our world and how I can use it to share my own ideas. I’m excited to see where this journey in Media Studies takes me!
