Hey everyone, Adrian here! Filming at the marine is officially done, and we were able to capture some key moments for Fading Into You. The featured image shown in this blog is me and Tati biking to the filming location while we follow Sav and Alina who were on the golf cart, and yes you heard that right, we are using a golf cart now on set for the film… This scene plays a major role in setting up the transition between past and present, showing how far our characters have come.
What We Filmed
- Arriving at the Beach – Instead of arriving by bike as originally planned, we switched it up and had Adrian and Tati arrive in a golf cart.
- The Memory Spot – They walk up to the same rock they sat on during their first date, creating a full-circle moment.
- Soft, Subtle Connection – As they sit down, their hands meet with Adrian helping her down the ledge to sit, adding a quiet but meaningful moment between them.
- The Big Memory Cue – Tati playfully reminds Adrian of their first date at this exact spot, setting up the transition into the flashback.
- The Final Scene – The film will end with a wide shot of them leaning their heads together, watching the sunset,as Tati delivers the final voiceover:“And the rest is just history.”
Change in Costume Plans
Originally, the idea was for Tati to wear a pink dress that Adrian buys for her when they accidentally meet at the mall. The plan was for that same pink dress to reappear in the beach scene (past) as a way to foreshadow the mall scene. However, with the change of the past arrival method to bikes instead of a golf cart, it wouldn’t make sense for Tati to be biking in a dress.
So, we made a change:
- Present Scene: Tati will wear the pink dress, emphasizing how far the relationship has come.
- Past Scene: Tati will wear a cute white crop top with straight/slightly baggy jeans and sandals, giving off a more casual, carefree vibe.
- Adrian’s Outfit: No changes here—dark, emo-looking clothes for the past and light, more casual clothes for the present.
One thing that didn’t change is the idea of bringing back the clothing from the past into the mall scene. Instead of being a pink dress, it’s going to be the same cute white crop top that Tati wore for the past scene, which will reappear in the mall scene. This still keeps the idea of foreshadowing their connection and showing how Adrian’s gift becomes part of her wardrobe.
Challenges & Unexpected Moments
- The Wind Issue – It was extremely windy during filming, so there’s a good chance we’ll need to do a separate voiceover for dialogue to make sure everything is clear. This won’t be a problem, just an extra step in post-production.
- An Unexpected Wildlife Encounter – While filming, we saw a pelican with a fishing hook stuck in its beak. Luckily, a kind stranger stepped in, carefully grabbed the bird, and removed the hook with pliers. Definitely an unexpected but amazing moment!
