Hey everyone, Adrian here! I came back from universal islands of adventure, and it was a thrill! I went on velocicoaster 3 times and it sure was horrifying, but you know what else is horrifying… our latest 30-second horror video called “The Watcher” that me and my crew created. The film is about this girl walking home in a dark alley, while this guy is following and WATCHING her. And at the end, he GRABS HER. The top primary focus on producin this video were my editing skills to create a suspenseful and chilling video. With Tatiana’s acting, Savana’s camerawork, and a touch of my own acting and editing skills, everything came together perfectly. Here’s all the process into making the video and all that was left out, BTS and a deep explanation on the theme of the video
Footsteps and Sound Effects
In the video, there are plenty of sound effects being used, as a matter of fact not a single clip in this video is the real world sound. All of the sounds you here in the video is all implemented in it. I used the sound of slow, steady footsteps to build tension as they gradually decrease as the main character walks away. I also made the audio feel more immersive, I layered sound effects floor creaks as the watcher steps a foot outside the door frame as the girl is walking through the hallway. These overlapping sounds added depth and kept the audience on edge… kinda like foreshadowing.

Dark Filter
So on top of the very plain walls in the background to making it creepy and bland with no soul at all, with the power of editing softwares to match more of the horror theme, I added a dark filter throughout the video3. It gave the scenes a shadowy, unsettling look, perfect for creating suspense.
Suspense Music
There were PLENTY of soundtracks used in this video, again using the same skill from the sound effects. I overlapped some creepy soundtrack that was right for the moment. The overall suspenseful music brought everything together. It started soft and eerie, building up intensity as the story progressed. This made the ending feel even more dramatic.
Why I Cut a Scene
I originally had a scene where two girls say goodbye before walking in different directions. The girl who gets kidnapped at the end of the video walks off alone. While it was a good setup, I decided not to include it because it didn’t add much context to the story. Instead, I focused on keeping the mystery alive and the pacing tight.
Behind the Scenes and Editing
I’m including behind-the-scenes photos to show the work that went into creating this video. You’ll also see a screenshot of the editing process in CapCut, where I pieced together the sound effects, music, and visuals to bring the story to life.

Final Thoughts
By combining footsteps, layered sounds, a dark filter, suspense music, and careful editing choices, I created a short but intense horror experience. Cutting unnecessary scenes and focusing on the essentials made the story more engaging. This project really pushed my editing skills, and I’m excited to share the results!
